River collision leaves one missing

Saturday, 06 October 2007
A light oil tanker hit a cruise boat belonging to The Oriental Hotel on Friday evening.

Police said the boat sank about 20 metres away from the river bank near the pier of Yok Yor Restaurant in Bangkok's Klong San district.

Eight of the nine guests onboard managed to swim ashore, and rescuers are still trying to locate one missing person.
