With the monsoon season well and truly settled in Thailand's northern provinces, the Public Health Ministry yesterday have announced four provinces as "red zones" for dengue fever.
The high-risk areas of Kamphaeng Phet, Nakhon Sawan, Phichit and Uthai Thani provinces in the upper central and lower northern parts of Thailand have collectively reported 1,187 dengue fever cases so far this year, with two fatalities, according to the provincial health inspector Dr Siriporn Kunchana.
The good doctor says the number of patients in all the provinces are the highest in the country.
