Coffin cigarette smugglers sentenced

Three Singaporean men have been sentenced for selling contraband cigarettes hidden inside 33 coffins, news reports said today.

Ho Chui Poo, 37, Tan Hai Thiam, 55, and Cheong Teck Guan, 32, admitted to dealing in 3,719 cartons of assorted cigarettes valued at , according to The Straits Times.

The men received jail terms of between 18 and 24 months.
