Pirate Chic

‘Pirate Chic’ is going to be BIG next season. Take it from us. But getting the look right is a lot harder than you think. With a number of new trends emerging this season, we asked a number of our maritime models to showcase the biggest trends coming to a soi near you.

Jazzy Shirts
The most important news is that ill-fitting, jazzy print shirts are back in a huge way. To complete the look, the more discerning Pirate matches with vintage grey cargo pants.

Santa Casual
It’s no surprise that the timeless ‘Santa Casual’ look is still with us, following the Holiday Season. Dress up with festive red colours, or down with icy tundra tones. Black socks with light tan shorts and Converse trainers also add to a cutting-edge look.

Pirate Places
Personal place-name T-shirts are another new essential. The key is to show where the wearer is from, or where they’ve just been. This can act as a great ice-breaker between pirates, as in, “Oh, I see you’re from Oregon. I have a niece who once went there, etc.”

Pirate Polo
If you’re wearing polo shirts this Winter, there is only one way to wear them: tight and buttoned to the neck. Larger breasts and waists and can be accentuated by tucking into beige cargo pants. Accessorise with matching hunting cap.

Mullet
The mullet replaces the crew cut as the season’s must-have hairstyle. If you haven’t already grown your own, you can get a weave to avoid that difficult in-between phase.
