Coffee BeansThe three-storey tall second branch of Coffee Beans has been running at full capacity since it opened in late 2005. Designed to be both homely and hip, waitresses wear nun-like costumes and tote electronic ordering devices. The food aims to cater to everyone, from three to eighty years old, with an extensive Thai menu alongside obligatory Italian offerings. Every single dish appears as a photograph in the two-foot tall menus. TV screens can be found on every floor, with a magazine, lounge and play area on the top floor. There is also a private room that seats 20. Its cake selection is internationally known, the cheesecake is a must. There is large tea selection, and the chocolate milkshakes are suitably dreamy.

goes to show how different we are
written by Marianne, January 06, 2008

I have eaten at the original Coffee Beans by Dao in Ekkamai Soi 12 as well as the Ruam Rudee branch many times. The food is fantastic, and truely value for money.
All deserts are heavenly. Staff is very friendly and helpful, but not very good at English, a fact I can easily live with since the enormous menue has impeccable English text.
There is now a third branch in the Centre Point near Pratuman market. I shall go and try it out as soon as possible.
If Coffee Beans by Dao can cater to the Royal palace it's sure good enough for me...

tasty cakes but bad service!
written by Jasmine, December 26, 2007

Their cakes and pies taste good. However, the service is something left to be desired. I'm not sure how the staff are trained (IF they are trained at all). The hostesses (there were 7 that day) just ignored us even though we politely asked to buy cakes to take home. The lady behind the counter just kept on arranging the shelves and the head waitress asked us to wait while she and the other 6 hostesses weren't doing any thing. Truly disappointing. Any way, others may have had a better experience, but I would not go back!

Good place for a cake lover

Coffee beans??????
written by Fred, February 19, 2007

Stopped by looking to buy coffee beans, with a name like "Coffee Beans by Dao" I thought they would have a good selection. The hostess who was trying her hardest to ignore me, looked at as if I were crazy thinking they actually sold coffee beans. It's just another generic tourist trap, offering Thai food at Paris France prices. Nice place, but way over priced and nothing origional. By the way, no coffee beans. Go figure.

No, it's not. This is the Thai restaurant owned by Thai and opened more than 8 years ago. It's the MUST!
