 One of the most famous Thai restaurants abroad and at home, the Blue Elephant was originally promoted as a Thai cooking school. The chief hosts a T.V. cooking show Mondays at 16:30 on channel 5. We tried the excellent “Foie Gras” with a dressing of Thai Tamarind Sauce which cost 480 baht and is worth every satang. The Blue Elephant restaurant chain is using the fresh ingredients with no MSGs, and delivering 5 star service. The restaurant is decorated with Thai antiques with many gift items for sale to promote the Thai culture. The cooking school offers half day classes for beginners at 2,800 baht or a five day professional course with your own private chef at a hefty 68,000 baht. To reserve your place at dinner for a small group, you should call about two days in advance, or two weeks for a large group.
