Bei Otto
Bangkok Locations - Restaurants

Bei OttoGerman atmosphere (food, drinks, people) at it's best. It's the place where you find both, a good German bread and a bad German tabloid. A Schweinebraten (pork knuckle) costs 350, and mixed sausages 420. A Heineken comes for 105 Baht, however we recommend a glass of Erdinger Weissbier (wheat beer) for 240 Baht (big glass). Every other month Otto's hosts a German business "Stammtisch" (meeting).

well, we went back to Bei Otto's yesterday after a long (1 year) breack because of dissapointment....this time it was even worse: the goulash suppe had been spoilt with salt. the soupe a l'onion (zwiebelsuppe) was just about ok, despite the 195 baht , no cheese serving on the side though. The Rinder rouladewas dry & tough, the accompanying Rotkohl was absolute tastless and i don't know where the "mit Apfle" was hiding, the fried potatoes were reheated. My partner had the Jaeger schnitzel which was just ok (for a Thai) but kept the noodles untouched. The shared mixed salade could ,by far ,not match the one i make at home. Luckily the beer was nice sparkling and cool. Total bill was a stunning 2.036 baht, an amount of money for which you can indulge in delicious food in many places around town. Even the food in some local foodcourts is more tasty. Bei Otto was a complete disaster.

unique in bangkok indeed; still watch if prices on the cashier's ticket in the delishop are confirm with prices mentioned on goods and that you are not charged an extra tax&vat on your restaurantbill since the website mentions that these should already be included in the prices displayed on the menu...mistakes can occur everywhere of course,still....

Still number one

Even though it might not be "up to German standarts", its still the best German restaurant in town.....Quite popular with Thais as well

My experience with the food there was rather mixed. The Schweinebraten was not up to German standarts at all. Though it was very busy that day, maybe you have to go when there are less customers.
