Literally “upstairs,” this hi-so French restaurant in the Sukhumvit 39 complex is a fave for politicians, smartly-dressed Japanese businessmen and their wives. Authentic French cuisine prepared with ingredients flown in from Normandy and Argentina come punctuated with the odd nod to its Thai location, such as the orange and chilli sorbet. The Chef recommends some traditional dishes, but highlights include foie gras, monkfish and Argentinian beef. Try to leave some room for the soufflé or chocolate fondant. Waiters can match the appropriate wines to each dish, but be careful not to step outside your evening’s budget. If the dinner menu is a little heavy on the wallet, the three- or four-course set lunch menu (B350 – 450) offers more than a taste of quality French food. - Prices:
- Entrée 120-780,
- Mains 370-2450,
- Desserts 120-285,
- Cocktails 200 – 300,
- Wine 700-90,000(!)
