V9’s wrap-around windows offer panoramic night views of Bangkok city. Half the space is set for dining – mostly French-style cuisine - while the other half is reserved for a lounge/bar area. Thankfully, the menu is selective rather than comprehensive and wines are recommended with each dish. DJs Vincent Moreau and Aek spin lounge and house music each night to an affluent local and expat crowd. Although this “Sex-in-the-city”-style venue is quite glam and well thought out, don’t expect a raging party, it’s more of a pricey dinner/lounge meeting place. But a new music manager will be organizing music events and nights, so keep an eye out on this space for yet another expensive place to grace. Recommended: V9’s antipasto “trees” – a multi-level antipasto platter in two sizes and a number of varieties 600 baht small, 1,000 baht large. Also get a bottle of wine at the wine shop at retail prices and pay no corkage.
